The Ketunpesä ("fox's den") is Polte Glass's best-known piece, familiar to many enthusiasts by name alone. It is a hand-blown borosilicate glass bowl into which a reed stem fits just as it is.

The reed is a wear part and is replaced as needed, while the glass part stays. The solution is both old and practical: the natural stem lengthens the path and the glass stays cleanable, so the whole piece lasts for years in use.

Each Ketunpesä is made by a single glass artist in Tampere. Shape, colour flow and weight vary between pieces, and no two are exactly alike.
